Department Overview
-
The Visual and Performing Arts department supports all students in Charleston County Schools by providing opportunities in Dance, Drama, Music, and Visual Art. Our mission is to engage all students in the creation of art and our vision is to ensure that all students have equal access to a quality education in the arts. Our highly qualified Arts educators use the College and Career Ready Standards for South Carolina Visual and Performing Arts to guide their instruction and support core curriculum.
Using our core values of inspiration, service, advocacy, collaboration, and equity, we work strategically and collaboratively with all stakeholders to support the mission and vision of our district.
