Congrats to the 32 Inductees to the Frank R. Flanigan Chapter of the National Social Studies Honor Society

Academic Magnet High School Celebrates our 32 Rho Kappa Inductees

Rho Kappa Inductees

According to the organization, "Rho Kappa was established to promote scholarship and to recognize excellence among high school students."

Magnet Social Science faculty member Nairobi Orr shared that "Our school's chapter is named after the late former Social Studies instructor at Academic Magnet.  Mr. Flanigan taught Honors Global Studies, which focused on Ancient History, Current Events and the Holocaust, a course that focused on the study of the Holocaust and how current human rights violations are still plaguing the world and AP European History.  He was known among students and staff for his wealth of knowledge that he was eager to share.  In his final years before his retirement, he initiated and began to establish the Rho Kappa chapter.  This chapter is and will continue to be a testament to his legacy.  We end this tribute with one of his favorite quotes, Carpe Diem, “seize the day.”

The 38 Academic Magnet High School students honored as inductees of Rho Kappa are listed below.

Congrats, young Raptors!
