Cario Students Place in Essay Contest

Congratulations to two Cario students for placing in the Fleet Reserve Association's Americanism Essay Contest. 8th Grader Phillip Kravchuk won first place for 8th Graders and 7th Grader Benjamin Avenot placed second for 7th Graders! FRA is a congressionally chartered veteran’s organization comprised of current and past enlisted members of the sea services of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. Their guiding principles are loyalty, protection and service. To support their principles, they sponsor an annual Americanism Essay Contest that is open to public, parochial, private and home schooled students in 7th through 12th grades. The subject for this year’s essay contest is, “Why I am Proud to be an American; Cario students submitted their essays and both Benjamin and Phillip were notified over break of their places. Phillip's essay will now move on the state level contest. Here at Cario, we could not be prouder of Phillip and of Benjamin! Way to go!
