2020- 2021 Child Development Screenings

CCSD Child Development Screening Process for 2020-2021 School Year

Due to school closure and social distancing requirements, CD screening is going to be conducted differently this year. The DIAL 4 will not be administered. The Early Learning Team researched alternatives to DIAL-4 face-to-face screening and identified the Ages and Stages Parent Questionnaire (ASQ) as a valid replacement for this year. The ASQ is a developmental screener used in early childhood programs and doctor's offices across the country. It is administered as a parent questionnaire and can be completed online.

The following are steps families need to take to complete the screening and application process for the 2020-2021 school year.

1. Family submits a Google intake form linked here.

2. Families will be emailed links to the ASQ and CD Family Questionnaire. Both surveys are required.

3. First round of students are qualified and parents are notified by email and letter. (Week of June 15th)

4. First round of waitlist status will be emailed or mailed. (Week of June 22nd)

Repeat steps for the second round of applicants beginning July 6, 2020. Families will receive qualification letters on July 20th. Waitlist letters will be distributed the week of July 27th.
