North Charleston High School hosts successful Student Registration and Chromebook Pick Up
The administration team of North Charleston High School (NCHS) met over a course of three days to make sure all of the T’s were crossed and all of the I’s dotted. The administration made sure informational calls were sent to parents/students at least four times before the big days!!
On Monday and Tuesday, August 31, 2020 and September 1, 2020, NCHS serviced over 400 students to register, pick up technical devices, receive class/school schedules, ask questions and meet the Administration team.
The administration team maned the posts. The front office staff made sure that the phone calls were answered. The assembly line concept worked like a champ. Parents and Students met with Ms. Bowens and Ms. Thiess at the registration table, which was the first stop. New students were able to register with our Data Clerk, Ms. Luciano. Next stop was Ms. Anderson. She made sure students were informed about fees owed and they were given an opportunity to clear their accounts. Ms. Studemeyer was the next stop. She issued Chromebooks. Parents and students signed the Charleston County School District Technology Agreement and then navigated to Mr. Boyer and Ms. Cunin. At this station, the administration collected the Technology Agreement and issued Chromebook chargers. Next, Mr. Pearson explained to each parent/student about their class schedule, the school’s bell schedule, and gave out Powerschool Username and Password information. They worked the long hours with amazing energy and the success was a team effort.
Social distancing and face coverings were not an issue! Staff was supported by Combined Invention Members as they kept our lines moving, opening doors, and reminding others of our COVID-19 regulations. And finally, Principal Henry Darby circulated every area of the operation to Meet and Greet the Cougar family!
One thing for sure, and two for certain; NCHS is building Parent/Student/School relations.
