#Race4Wanza Provides CCSD Students with Scholarships

Join the Race 4 Achievement as they present the annual Doughnut Dash 5k #Race4Wanza taking place March 23rd, 2019. This event which pays tribute to TyWanza Sanders by funding three $1,000 scholarships for seniors in the Charleston, SC, area. 

Tywanza Sanders, a man with a philanthropic spirit and a commitment to the achievement of youth in his community and beyond, was the youngest victim of the 2015 Mother Emanuel Church Massacre. 

Event partners include Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Jewish Community Center Without Walls, and South Windermere Shopping Center to execute this community event. 

The annual 5k has had over 700 runners/walkers participate over the three years.

This annual event has awarded over $8,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors at James Island Charter High School, Burke High, and West Ashley High School.
