CCSD Hosts Lowcountry Student Summit

Charleston County School District (CCSD) and Clemson University Inclusion and Equity present the Lowcountry Student Summit January 26, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Academic Magnet High School in North Charleston. 

An extension of the Clemson University Men of Color National Summit, this day-long event is stocked with tools and resources for students in grades 8-12 to plan for success after high school.

The Lowcountry Student Summit features motivational speakers and workshops designed to help students tap into their talents as well as develop academic and professional skills that prepare them for college and post-college careers. Students will learn about topics such as these:

  • Taking dual enrollment courses
  • Registering in apprenticeship programs
  • Preparing for career success
  • Applying to colleges
  • Taking tests such as SAT/ACT/WorkKeys
  • Completing the FAFSA
  • Submitting scholarship applications

The summit is open to Charleston County School District students, parents, guardians, educators and administrators. Attendance is free and limited to the first 500 participants. Pre-registration is required and registration ends when the event is full. Walk-in registrations will not be permitted.
