Not that many years ago, Mt. Zion Elementary had an award winning Green Team led by Erin Bianco. With COVID, our composting and recycling efforts were curtailed. Happily, MZES is one of six schools re-introducing composting efforts during meals. Our students are all learning what items can go into compost and how to separate trash and recycling. Ms. Bianco and custodian, Mr. White taught older students to assist the younger ones, but they are all learning! Mr. White went from throwing away more 10-15 bags of trash at lunch time to just one!  Way to go, Wildcats!

Our Green Team is also responsible for helping get recycling from all the classrooms.
