Partnership with the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry

The CD classes will have an exciting, on-going partnership with the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry. With a combination of grant funds and school funds, the CD classes will have a visit from CML staff on a weekly basis. The Children's Museum provides the materials needed for a stem project that students will complete.

The first project was creating (from only four materials!) an object that would float in the wind tunnel. There were several materials from which to choose, so students had to be selective. Some students were successful, but all students discussed each flight and why they did or did not work. It was incredible hearing the students say why something did or did not work ("It was too heavy," etc.).

What an amazing opportunity for some of our littlest learners!
