Kids Heart Challenge Kickoff!

This week in our Physical Education classes we kicked off our annual Kids Heart Challenge event.  (Formerly known as Jump Rope for Heart.)

In your child's Wednesday folder (October 2nd) was an envelope from the American Heart Association with all the information as to how to register your MCS student for this event.  Primary 3- and 4-year-old students are encouraged to raise money, even though they aren't in physical education class until kindergarten.

MCS students have been supporting the American Heart Association through jumping rope for over 8 years.  The students spend 5 weeks of their Physical Education classes every year learning all about how to have healthy hearts.   The students in Kindergarten, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Middle School will learn a variety of single jumps, partner jumps, hula hoop challenges, and long rope skills.  We hope you can join our school by sponsoring an MCS student in this Kids Heart Challenge schoolwide event.

All money is due to Ms. Ruth by November 12th, 2019.  Thank you for your continued support every year!  Please email Ms. Ruth at ruth_sword@charleston.k12.sc.us if you have any questions about this event.
