Basketweaver and historian visits laing

Corey Alston speaks to students Corey Alston, a Lowountry native, came to speak to the students at Laing Middle School about the Gullah culture, art, foods such as rice, and the importance of preserving the art of sweetgrass basket sewing. The students learned the history of the craft and the basic assembly instructions.
