A message from our Principal and Charleston County School District regarding recent Social Media comments
Dear Parents and Ladson Community,
I want to share with you a personnel action that Charleston County School District took today (Monday) in response to an offensive social media post made by one of our classified employees over the weekend.
We learned yesterday that a Ladson Elementary classified (non-teaching) employee posted an appallingly offensive message on a television station’s social media page that flies in the face of Ladson Elementary’s and the school district’s values, principles, beliefs, and core purpose. The district has taken swift action and the individual is no longer employed by Charleston County School District and Ladson Elementary.
I am extremely disappointed with the former employee’s offensive and unacceptable message, and I think that the District’s swift action this morning conveys a strong commitment to our values and principles.
Ladson Elementary does not condone these types of offensive messages and apologizes for any harm caused by this individual’s actions.
Charleston County School District (CCSD) was made aware of highly offensive and unacceptable remarks posted by an employee on a public news media website. The employee, who is a non-teaching school staff member, is no longer employed by CCSD, as of this morning (Monday, June 15).
We are extremely disappointed with the former employee’s offensive and unacceptable message, and we think that our swift action this morning conveys our commitment to the District’s values and principles.
CCSD does not condone these types of offensive messages and apologizes for any harm caused by this individual’s actions.
