Middle School Team Building
Being a part of a Montessori classroom is a special experience. One of those experiences is the sense of community they have. In order to have a strong community, adolescents spend time building community through group initiatives/activities. This week one of the activities was "Minefield". Adolescents find a partner and go to opposite sides of the minefield. One player is blindfolded and the other verbally tells them how to go through the field. If a mine is blown up (touched) the team starts again. This allows adolescents to work on communication. Communication is an important skill needed throughout life.
