The SC Dept of Education sponsored their 2nd Annual Farm-to-School Junior Chef Competition. Some of the requirements were to use at least 3 SC Certified Grown ingredients in your original recipe. Another requirement was that the recipe would be converted to be made as a school lunch. The winning team's dish would appear on the school's lunch menu.
We are proud to announce that the JICHS Lady Trojans came in SECOND PLACE!!!!!!
The Lady Trojans consisting of Lauren Murrell and Michelle Washington won $8000 scholarships each to Sullivan University and the recipe will be made available to the District Food Service Director for use in their school nutrition program.
