QTR 4 Health Update
For those enrolled in 2nd semester Freshman Focus/Health, we wanted to inform you that the Health portion of this class will start Wednesday, March 25th via an online learning platform called Edgenuity. Students should have already received their login information through their school Gmail account. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child's teacher.
March 15, 2020 Update
As you are aware, all schools in the state of South Carolina will be closed beginning tomorrow, March 16, 2020. We wanted to inform our James Island Charter High School families that we have been diligently working on distance learning protocols, and we feel very confident that each student will not only continue their educational growth, but will thrive in it. A lot of thought and preparation has been given into what we are launching, and we believe we’ll be able to meet each students’ educational needs during this extended school closure.
JICHS will primarily be following an eLearning protocol that is individualized and delivered by each teacher. Please be on the lookout for the next steps from your child’s teacher as they will be forthcoming, and know that our entire staff is working diligently to ensure our students’ educational needs are being met.
We understand that eLearning may not be an option for all of our students. In such instances where this is the case, students and families may stop by JICHS on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM to pick up hard copies of instructional resources and assignments.
During this extended school closure, our JICHS staff will still be available to answer questions or give any assistance needed. Please understand that at this time we don’t have the answers to all of your questions, but we will do our best to answer you in a timely manner.
We will continue to update the James Island Charter High School community through emails, callouts, our JICHS website and/or Facebook as pertinent information becomes available.
