Hello CCSD Educators.
On behalf of the Teacher Compensation Task Force, we were excited to have started the new school year with an increase in our teacher salary schedule to include the extending STEPs to 40 years that was actually approved at the end of the SY2023. The additional $5,000 to the teacher salary schedule and the ESSER-funded $5,000 bonus are a big win for us and we greatly appreciate the Board of Trustees' support to make this a reality. The Teacher Compensation Task Force will continue this work for the upcoming school year, with our first meeting scheduled for next week.

Teacher Compensation Update
Hello CCSD Educators.
On behalf of the Teacher Compensation Task Force, we were excited to have started the new school year with an increase in our teacher salary schedule to include the extending STEPs to 40 years that was actually approved at the end of the SY2023. The additional $5,000 to the teacher salary schedule and the ESSER-funded $5,000 bonus are a big win for us and we greatly appreciate the Board of Trustees' support to make this a reality. The Teacher Compensation Task Force will continue this work for the upcoming school year, with our first meeting scheduled for next week.
We want to share a brief status update:
-At the September 11, 2023, Committee of the Whole meeting, Dr. Gallien announced a plan to fund the first half ($2,500) of the promised $5,000 ESSER bonus for teachers.
-Staff will request an amendment from the state next week, which we anticipate will be finalized in approximately 3-4 weeks. We plan to update teachers by October 15th with a specific date that they can expect the first half of the ESSER bonus.
