The Charleston Educational Excellence Financing Corporation (CEEFC) recognized the following two long-standing members of its Board of Directors for many years of dedicated service to Charleston County School District during a reception on November 28, 2022.
- President, Mr. Perry Leazer (2012-2022)
- Attorney, Mr. Don Gibson (2004-2022)
The CEEFC is a 501(c) (3) corporation established in July 2004 and operates exclusively for educational and charitable purposes to assist CCSD by monitoring and making recommendations to the district's Board of Trustees regarding the 2005-2009 Capital Building Program funded by alternative financing (a $500 million debt structure). The primary responsibilities were to acquire, finance, pledge, improve, maintain, operate, manage, lease and dispose of school buildings and other public education facilities for the use and benefit of the school district. The secondary responsibilities were to encourage public education through cooperative agreements with governmental entities and organizations under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
CCSD appreciates the contributions these gentlemen made to CEEFC and our community, and we wish them well.
