On Thursday, May 19, 2022, five Charleston County School District students participated in a “signing day” to celebrate their commitment to becoming teachers in the district when they graduate from college in the near future.
These students, all graduating seniors from Early College High School, are part of the CCSD’s Teach Local program, which provides high school students with training to become an educator and support to attend a college and earn a degree in education.
Below is a list of ECHS students that are a part of the program:
Holiday Clark, College of Charleston - Double Major: Education & Studio Art Ellen Monteith, USC-Upstate - Special Education Antonio Parnell, College of Charleston - Elementary Education Mirrell Sharpe, Winthrop University - Theater Education Myia Steele, College of Charleston - Early Childhood Education
This is the second year of the program; four ECHS students made commitments last year through Teach Local.
