CCSD classes resume Monday, January 4
Students and staff will resume classes on Monday, January 4 following Winter Break. Our hope is that your families were safe during the holidays, and we will do our best to keep schools, students, and staff safe as we return. We will monitor very closely the COVID-19 rates in order to identify any trends or issues that would require a change in our protocols or a change in our school schedules. Anyone who is symptomatic or has been exposed to COVID-19 should be kept at home. Please be aware that our students’ and staff’s health is our top priority, and we will inform you of any changes to school operations to allow appropriate planning time for your family. We invite you to visit the CCSD website to review the District’s COVID-19 protocols, contract tracing procedures, and notification processes. If your children normally attend school in person but you choose to keep them home as a precautionary measure this week, we understand, but we will not be able to add them to an online class. However, if you notify your child’s teacher in writing and arrange for missed assignments to be submitted in a timely manner, the absence will be excused.
Notification and Contact Tracing Protocols
The district continues to stay in close contact with DHEC and MUSC medical experts and adhere to strict contact tracing protocols. The District updates positive cases daily when school is in session. When positive cases are found, all students and staff who are determined to have been close contacts are quarantined and telephone calls are made to all impacted individuals. The CCSD protocols regarding close contacts and notification can be found here.
