Roper St. Francis Thermometers Donation Helps Keep Students Safe
Many of CCSD's new families are fortunate to have the support of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) parent advocates to help them ensure their children's success in school. And now, thanks to a generous donation of 500 home thermometers from Roper St. Francis Healthcare, families will have an extra tool to keep them safe and their students ready to learn during the pandemic and beyond.
The thermometers were delivered to the district at the end of last month, and parents and guardians now receiving them from the ESOL Department and the Nursing Services Department.
A need for thermometers became apparent after a survey of new CCSD immigrant families found that 80 percent of them did not have thermometers in the home. With the help of CCSD and Roper St. Francis Healthcare, these families will have the ability to check their temperatures and maintain their wellness at home.
