Travis Clark (PE Teacher)
Born in Morganton, NC
What Coach Clark loves most about teaching is interacting with students, making them smile, and helping them improve. His students inspire him! His favorite book is, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". What he looks forward to this school year is mentoring new teachers and bringing information back to faculty and staff members from the Teacher of the Year Round Table meetings.
Loretta Smith (Teacher Assistant)
Born in Charleston, SC
What Mrs. Smith loves most about being a Teacher's Assistant is interacting with different students and hoping to see them later in life being successful! Her favorite book is, "Diary to my Mother". What she looks forward to this year is helping students change their mindsets in efforts to lead them towards accomplishing their goals.

Tarikia White (CTE Teacher)
Born in Charleston, SC
What Ms. White loves most about teaching is meeting new students and helping them recognize and/or refine their career paths and goals. Her favorite reading materials are inspirational pieces. What she looks forward to this school year is collaborating with her colleagues and providing holistic support to students.
Ronnie Bryant (Day Porter)
Born in St. Stephen, SC
What Mr. Bryant loves most about being a Day Porter is maintaining the cleanliness of our school campus and fellowshipping with our coworkers. His favorite movie is “Ocean’s Eleven”. Mr. Bryant enjoys taking frequent visits to Myrtle Beach.

Rachel Perkins (Social Worker)
Born in Agana Heights, Guam
What Mrs. Perkins loves most about teaching is getting to know our students and being able to provide a safe and supportive space for them to talk through any challenges they may be facing. Seeing a student walk out of her office smiling, hopeful, and ready to conquer the day is why she does what she does! Her favorite book is, "Down These Mean Streets" by Piri Thomas. Mrs. Perkins looks forward to another year of working with the amazing staff at DJA because we truly are a family! She also looks forward to new opportunities that will empower our students, families, and surrounding community. She is thrilled to be a part of it.
Sandra Hodges (Teacher Assistant)
Born in Charleston, SC
What Ms. Hodges loves most about teaching is meeting new students and helping them realize that anything is possible! Her favorite book is, “The Little Engine that Could”. What she looks forward to for the remainder of this school year is making a positive impact in the hearts and minds of our students.

Zoraida Wright (Edgenuity Teacher)
Born in Jamaica Queens, NY
What Dr. Wright loves most about working in an educational setting/learning environment is when students have an epiphany regarding the importance of obtaining their high school diplomas. She believes all students can learn when the environment is conducive to their learning styles. Her favorite book is The Holy Bible. Dr. Wright is looking forward to witnessing several impactful milestones that DJA is making in the lives of the students we serve, the local community, and Charleston County as a whole.
LaDieja' Brown (Teacher Assistant)
Born in Charleston, SC
What Ms. Brown loves about working in our learning environment is the fact that she has a positive impact on
the students and staff at DJA. Every day is eventful, loads
of fun, and very interesting! She is grateful for her ability
to cope in tough situations. Her favorite book is, “Matilda”.
Ms. Brown is anticipating creating more avenues of
exploration for our students through the implementation of
writing workshops, cooking classes, and getting our
students even more involved outside the classroom.
