This is Principal Michelle Conner calling with an important message. Starting tomorrow, Thursday, September 2, our school will move to full virtual instruction for two weeks.
We anticipate returning to in-person instruction on Thursday, September 16. The decision to move to virtual instruction is based on the number of positive COVID-19 cases associated with our school and the number of students quarantined as close contacts.
The district will do extensive, additional cleaning of our building, including 100% disinfection fogging tonight, which will allow our staff members to teach remotely from their classrooms.
We understand this will be a challenge for our school community. However, we are making this adjustment to ensure student and staff safety and to minimize the spread of COVID-19 on our campus among students and staff. The temporary move to virtual instruction will allow us to continue providing quality instruction for students in a safe environment. Given our discussions and review of data with medical professionals, please know this is the best option for our students at this time.
You will receive an email from your child’s teacher in the morning by 9 am with directions for online learning and the class schedule for daily instruction. Virtual instruction will start tomorrow.
I appreciate your understanding and your continued support of Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School.
