Wando remains the top high school in South Carolina for athletics

Wando High School is once again the best high school in the state for athletics at the AAAAA level. The Warriors earned the South Carolina Athletic Administrators Association's Carlisle Cup for the 2021-2022 school year; this is the seventh year in a row they have earned this prestigious honor.
The award goes to one school from each of the South Carolina High School League's (SCHSL) five classifications and is based on the overall athletic program's success in the postseason.
The Warriors collected four SCHSL AAAAA team state championships (girls' swimming, boys' lacrosse, girls' lacrosse, and girls' soccer) and nine individual state/relay championships (one in boys' swimming, four in girls' swimming, one in boys' cross country, one in boys' golf, one in boys' track and field, and one in girls' track and field).

"I want to congratulate the coaches, student-athletes, parents, and the entire Wando High School staff on claiming our seventh Carlisle Cup in a row," said Wando's Athletic Director, Mark Buchman. "I am extremely proud and honored to work for such a dedicated staff of coaches, athletes, athletic trainers, teachers, administrators, volunteers, and parents to meet this honorable accomplishment again. Thank you for your hard work and loyalty. Let's Go Wando!"

Wando has now won nine Carlisle Cups overall since the 2008-2009 school year
