“We would like to congratulate Angel Oak Elementary School for being recognized as a 2022-23 ArtsNOW Leadership School. ArtsNOW Leadership Schools are schools that consistently provide arts integration school-wide with a high level of fidelity. The arts are pervasive throughout the school, and teaching and learning is positively reinforced and supported through the lens of arts integration. In addition, ArtsNOW Leadership Schools have principals who make arts integration a school-wide priority and who are passionate about positively impacting students, and their school communities, through the arts. Angel Oak Elementary has been partnering with ArtsNow since 2018. As a part of the SmART Literacy federal grant, Angel Oak Elementary continues to show growth in student achievement each year in the areas of reading and writing as reflected by increased proficiency in SC READY data, lexile scores and pre/post writing assessments as noted in the grant's Year 4 evaluation snapshot".
