The scope of the John’s Island Elementary School is to build a new, 2 story brick, 90,600 square foot elementary school for 700 students in grades 2-5. 

Thompson Turner is complete with its building envelope. Door and window install is complete. Drywall and 1st paint coat is complete is 90%. Electrification is scheduled for early February. After inspections, roofing will finish by late February. One wing has its mechanical, electrical and plumbing complete while the second wing is 90% complete. Storm water piping is complete. Sewer is complete by early February. Moonbeam road connection to River Road entrance is complete yet requires surface asphalt. River Road and Brownswood work starts Jan 2025 permitting dependent.

Project is on schedule for occupancy in August 2025.
 

Mascot

After receiving community input, "Otto the River Otter" was chosen as the new mascot for Johns Island Elementary School and will represent the new school's community!
