• End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP)

The Education Accountability Act of 1998 requires that students in specific high school courses in the areas of English, math, Science and Social Studies take a state-developed final exam.  This program is called the End-of-Course-Examination Program (EOCEP) and the tests are referred to as EOCs.

Each exam counts 20 percent of the students' final grade in the following courses:

    • Algebra , Intermediate Algebra
    • English
    • U.S. History and the Constitution
    • Biology 1

For the 2020 - 2021 school year, the following procedures should be implemented consistently and uniformly in all CCSD middle and high schools for all EOCEP courses and for all students enrolled in these courses.

    • EOC assessments must be administered to every student enrolled in a designated EOC course, as required by federal accountability requirements and according to state administration guidelines.
    • A teacher-made final exam for all EOCEP courses will also be administered to all students enrolled in these courses.
    • Teachers will apply the higher of the two grades earned on the EOCEP exam or the teacher-made final exam as the 20 percent course grade exam requirement for all EOCEP courses.
    • A comment (see comments in quotation marks) must be added to the exam column in PowerSchool to indicate whether the recorded final exam grade entered is the result of the “Teacher-made Exam” or the “State EOCEP.”

***Virtual students should check-in at the front of the school at least 15 minutes before their test start time.

From CCSD: If your virtual high school student is scheduled to take a state/national assessment in-person at their high school, and they would like to ride the bus to (and/or from) school on those testing day(s), please complete the following State Testing Transportation form at least (5) school days prior to their scheduled test date. If you have specific questions regarding your testing dates, please see your student’s school website for more information or reach out to your student’s school.

    Additional Information Concerning Bus Stops:

If needed, bus transportation for full-time virtual students will be provided for testing on regularly scheduled school days at the published pick-up and drop off times and locations. Please note that existing bus routes and schedules will be utilized and will not include a route or bus exclusive to virtual students. Families should review the information related to all CCSD bus routes, stop times and locations found on the CCSD Transportation web page under Bus Schedules. Students who cannot be picked up after they complete testing will remain at school for the entire school day in order to ride the bus home.

If you believe that there is not a bus stop within 3/10 of a mile from your home, please submit a bus stop request through our Bus Transportation Complaint and Feedback Form. Bus stops will normally not be added if there is already an existing bus stop within 3/10 of a mile of your home. Magnet School bus stops are different from traditional neighborhood school bus stops. Magnet bus stops are centralized and they could be as far as 5 miles from the home and are considered “parent assisted” bus stops. These Magnet bus stop locations are not intended to be stops to which most students can walk to or be left unattended.
