• Calling all parents, guardians, teachers, staff, and community members-
It's time to renew your PTA dues or become a member for the first time! Individual membership is $5 and you also have the option of making an open donation of any amount. You can make your secure online PTA membership dues payment and any additional donations at this link.
Your financial donation will support the PTA's mission of enhancing the learning experience for the student's at Hursey Elementary School. Members who are current on their dues will have the ability to give input and help guide the direction of the PTA and will be invited to attend our upcoming virtual PTA meetings.
What is the PTA up to these days? Despite the challenges of Covid times, the PTA has resolved to step up our involvement and find new and creative ways to support our teachers and staff. Recently the PTA funded a request from the school guidance counselor to bring an inspirational speaker to Hursey. Chris Singleton, originally from Charleston and a former professional baseball player lost his mother in the Mother Emanuel AME Church shooting. He speaks to students about unity and overcoming adversity. The PTA is proud to be able to help provide experiences like this for the students and it wouldn't be possible without your support. The speaking engagement will happen in April. Stay tuned for more good things to come!
You can donate online or send in a check or cash with the paper that will be going home with your student next week. You might also spot a PTA member at drop off or pick up collecting membership dues 🙂
Thank you for being a part of the community that supports and loves the Hursey family.
