Purpose: The West Ashley High Speech & Debate Team is dedicated to the development of communication skills, open-mindedness, and community awareness through a rigorous exploration of rhetoric and expression. The WA Speech & Debate Team works to actively develop these skills through practice, team and community involvement, and competing among a variety of both different and like-minded individuals across the state of South Carolina.

Requirements: Students must have all grades be above 75, attend four non-West Ashley High competitions and weekly practices, participate in fundraising, and pay membership dues.
