Good afternoon,
I hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing Summer.
I wanted to share a few friendly transportation reminders and updates:
-
COVID Protocols:
-
All students and transportation staff will be required to wear masks while riding on the bus. (If you have students with medical exceptions, please advise the bus driver and share the document with me) All buses will have spare masks available. Transportation will not be denied for students who do not wear masks. Drivers are instructed to document these incidents as "failure to comply".
-
Capacity standards will return to normal. However, we will closely monitor all buses that reach true maximum capacity. When feasible, we will implement routing changes to mitigate capacity concerns.
-
Drivers will be required to complete seating charts. Your support and assistance with this process would be greatly appreciated. With more students requiring transportation this school year, assigned seats will be required. Drivers may request your assistance with completing a master seating chart.
-
Buses will be disinfected on a daily basis.
-
School Bus Stop Lookup Tool: We are excited to roll out our new school bus stop lookup tool. Due to the fact that bus routes and bus stop locations and times are constantly changing, we are encouraging parents and schools to utilize this new tool for updated route information.
-
Late Bus Log: Please ensure that late and missing buses are documented accordingly. We meet with First Student personnel on a weekly basis and review this data for troubleshooting purposes. Said data is also utilized to determine lost instructional time and to ensure contract compliance with First Student.
- Bus Transportation Complaint and Feedback Form: Please encourage parents to utilize this form to submit transportation issues, stop requests, and concerns. This form can be accessed through our Transportation page on the internet.
First View App: This is our new late bus notification system. Parents and students have the ability to track the live location of their bus. For security reasons, we require parents to contact their child's school to obtain the school code. First View School Codes can be found under Transportation on the Intranet.First View District Dashboard: Will provide bus notifications for your school and allow you to view live route information. Access to this user-friendly system will provide schools the opportunity to track the live location of their buses and eliminate the guesswork of trying to determine where your buses are.
