Abby Miskew is the Speech-Language Pathologist at Meeting Street Brentwood. She earned her B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC before completing her M.A. in Speech- Language Pathology at George Washington University this year. Alison Perez, Art Teacher

Alison Perez is delighted to be returning to Meeting Street Elementary @ Brentwood as an early childhood Art Teacher during the 2021-2022 school year. She is incredibly proud to be part of a learning community that is dedicated to providing quality educational opportunities for children in North Charleston. Alison grew up and attended public schools in Unionville, Pennsylvania. It was always Alison's dream to become a teacher. She received her bachelor's degree from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and is certified as an early childhood and elementary educator. After college, Alison spent 2 years in Rhode Island designing and implementing a tutoring and intervention program for at-risk students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Since moving to South Carolina in 2006, Alison has taught 1st and 2nd grade in Charleston County. She also provided support and mentorship for new teachers, and has designed and provided professional development in incorporating science into reading and writing instruction for early childhood educators. In her free time, Alison loves spending time with her boyfriend Brandon, gardening, going to the beach, painting, and playing with her dog and cats - Cassidy, Judy, Magnolia, Sugaree, and Scarlet.

Alma Jones, Kindergarten Teacher

Alma Jones is a sixth year kindergarten teacher at Meeting Street. During her first year at Meeting Street she began as a fellow and transitioned into a lead on the kindergarten team. Prior to joining the Meeting Street family, Alma worked at James Island Elementary for four years. While there, she worked as a teacher assistant in the computer lab, kindergarten class, and the pre-school intervention class (PIC). Alma earned my bachelor of science in elementary education from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Alma is a native of Edisto Island, South Carolina. She currently resides in Summerville, South Carolina with her husband Eddie, and three children, Aldariya, 18 and Trevion, 14, and Elijah 3 years old. When she is not teaching she enjoys spending time with her family. It has always been her dream to educate children, and she is passionate to live out her dream with the Meeting Street family. Amanda Kosiorek is a reading interventionist for elementary and middle school students at Meeting Street Elementary @Brentwood. Andrianne M Smalls is entering her fourth year at Meeting Street Elementary @ Brentwood. She has over 10 plus years working in the Special Education sector and will enter 2021-2022 as a second year 5th grade Math teacher. Ms. Smalls is from Charleston, South Carolina yet grew up in Germany. She recieved her HS Dipolma from Charleston County School District , B.A. in Communications-Journalism with a minor in Nonprofit Administration from USC-Upstate, M.A.T in Special Education from Converse College and is currently completing her M.Ed in Administration and Supervision at Southern Wesleyan University. Angelina Liberi is the Elementary School Dean of Instruction at Meeting Street at Brentwood. This is her first year with the network and ninth year in education. Anna Williams, Behavior Interventionist

Anna Williams is our Pre-K- 1st grade Behavior Interventionist at Meeting Street Elementary @ Brentwood. Anna is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, where she served as a Therapeutic Group Leader at The Children’s Home of Cincinnati. While in this position, she provided intensive mental health treatment to children ages 3 to 8 in a classroom setting. Anna received her B.S. in Social Work from Miami University in Oxford, OH. April Bright, Science Teacher

April Bright is returning for her fourth year as a Science teacher at Meeting Street Elementary at Brentwood. She is excited to provide an invigorating Science curriculum to students with engaging lessons and hands-on investigations. Aveus Johnson teaches first grade at Meeting Street Elementary @Brentwood. She joined us from Angel Oak Elementary, where she was a Pre-K teacher for two years. Ben Leach, Science Teacher

Ben Leach is the 6th-8th grade science teacher. He has taught in a variety of schools, both public and private, for six years, and he has worked as a school administrator for two years. He attended Clemson University (Go Tigers!) and recieved degrees in science teaching and biology, and he recieved his masters in administration from Marymount University. Cara Murray, Counselor

Cara Murray is a school counselor here at MSEB. She is excited about her 5th year with our Team & Family. Prior to MSEB, Cara was a Program leader with WINGS for kids where she directed social and emotional after school programs here in Charleston. Cara began as an educator when she served as a Teach for America Corps Member is New Orleans, Louisiana as a 5th and 6th grade teacher. Caroline Martinez, Middle School Instructional Coach

Caroline Martinez has taught upper school math for the past two years at MSE-Brentwood. This will be her 10th year in the classroom where she has mainly taught Math to 3rd-6th grade students. Christine Ramsey is starting her eighth year at Meeting Street Elementary @Brentwood as the Occupational Therapist Interventionist. Prior to working at MSEB, she was an OT for 4 years in SC public schools. Before focusing on pediatrics, Christine worked in adult rehabilitation for five years in North Charleston and Florence. She received her Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Sciences from the Medical University of South Carolina, and her undergraduate study was in Exercise Science at USC. Courtney Enright-Moschella is the Alumni Transition Coordinator at Meeting Street at Brentwood. This is her first year in the network and her twenty-first year in education (eighteen were spent in a 6th-grade science classroom, two in a leadership/administration/coaching position). Courtney received her B.S in Elementary Education from Palm Beach Atlantic University and her Masters in Education and Education Specialist in Leadership from Capella University. Danielle Washington is the principal of both the elementary and middle school at Meeting Street Elementary @ Brentwood. She joined us from Atlanta, GA where she was the principal of a K-5th turnaround school in Atlanta Public Schools. Danielle received her BA in Journalism from the Univ. of South Carolina, her M.Ed in Divergent Learning at Columbia College, and Education Specialist degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development from Walden University. Daphne Singleton is the IT Manager at MSEBrentwood. She was previously employed with CCSD with 15 years of experience in technology. Daryl Solee is the Dean of Students for the Early Childhood and Elementary School at Meeting Street Elementary @Brentwood. Daryl Joined us as a Behavioral Interventionist after spending years as a Behavioral Interventionist at a previous school in the Charleston County School District. Daryl was originally born in Liberia West Africa and moved to the United States at an early age. Dixie Durant, Director of Operations

Ms. Dixie was born and raised in South Carolina and attended Clemson University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. After graduation she moved to New York City where she worked for a national education nonprofit called City Year. She started as an AmeriCorps Member and gave a year of service in East Harlem which is one of the many underserved communities City Year New York works in. She also held the role of Team Leader, Program Manager and Senior Program Manager during her time there. She has been with Meeting Street since 2016 and has proudly worked as the Director and Senior Director of Operations at both MSE@Brentwood and MSE@Burns. In her spare time Ms. Dixie enjoys traveling, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and singing off-key at all the best country concerts.

Domoniquie Conyers, Behavior Interventionist

Domoniquie Conyers is a Behavior Interventionist at Meeting Street Elementary at Brentwood. She joined MSEB after working as a Student Concern Specialist at Wando High School as well as a substitute teacher for CCSD. Domoniquie also has experience working with youth ages 5-18 in the foster care system as a Residential Counselor as well as a Case Manager. Domoniquie received her B.A. on Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of Central Florida. Earl Foxworth, Jr. is starting his first year at Meeting Street Elementary @ Brentwood as the Data and Analytics Manager. Earl moved to the Lowcountry from Charlotte, N.C. along with his wife and 2 sons. He graduated from Francis Marion University with degrees in Psychology and Sociology. He later received his MS from Pfeiffer University in Organizational Change and Leadership. Kelsey Stickley is a special education teacher at Meeting Street Elementary @Brentwood. She moved here all the way from Ohio where she taught students with autism for two years prior. Kristen Jacksa, 5th Grade Teacher

Kristen Jacksa is a new addition to the Meeting Street at Brentwood family but is a 22 year veteran in the classroom. She is teaching 5th Grade ELA and cannot wait to meet her students and their families. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English, With Distinction, from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from North Central College. Kyle Lawton, 8th Grade Teacher

Kyle Lawton teaches eighth grade at Meeting Street Elementary @ Brentwood. Kyle joined MSEB is 2017 and has been fortunate to teach the same cohort of amazing students for four years. She joined Teach For America-Nashville in 2010, where she taught at KIPP Nashville. After TFA, Kyle pursued a Master's in Social Work at New York University to build her skill set and to provide social-emotional tools for the students that she worked with. While in New York City, she counseled dozens of students at Murray Hill Academy High School and continued to tutor students of all ages. In 2017, Kyle was convinced to move down to Charleston and fell in love with the city and Meeting Street's mission. Outside of school, Kyle loves spending time with her fiance, Charles, friends, and family. She loves bike riding, reading, going to the beach, cooking, making jewelry, interior design, and watching movies/tv shows.

Laura Gassaway, Digital Learning Coordinator

Laura Gassaway is the digital learning coordinator and music teacher at Meeting Street Elementary @Brentwood. This is her 6th year teaching at MSEB. One of her favorite aspects of her position is that she has the opportunity to work with her students and their families year after year. She is from Nashville, Tennessee, where she developed her love for music. She grew up playing piano and began playing percussion in high school. She attended Middle Tennessee State University, where she participated in numerous music ensembles and earned her bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education. In May of 2021 she graduated with her master’s degree in Instructional Design and Learning Technology at Anderson University. In her free time she enjoys seeing live music, running, cooking, and hanging out with her kitten Cosmic Charlie.

Laura Hayden, 5th Grade Teacher

Laura Hayden is starting her third year as a 5th grade Teacher at Meeting Street Elementary Brentwood, and could not be more excited to continue working with the MSEB students and community! She was born and raised in Maryland, in an area just north of Washington, DC. She attended the University of Dayton in Ohio for her undergraduate studies, where she graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. After receiving her degree, she knew in her heart she wanted to work with the future generation in a school, so she headed back home to Maryland for graduate school at Loyola University Maryland. Here she received her Master's in School Counseling in the spring of 2017. After graduation, Laura followed her older brother to the beautiful city of Charleston and discovered Meeting Street Schools. She knew right off the bat that she wanted to be a part of Meeting Street Schools, and more importantly to be a part of "being the change" in regards to students' educational experience in this area. During her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, going to the beach, playing and cheering for all sports (Go Caps!), and trying all the different delicious restaurants Charleston has to offer!

Lindsay Morris is the Director of Student Pathways at Meeting Street Elementary @Brentwood. She joined the Brentwood team five years ago as a school counselor. She’s been a school counselor in the Charleston area for ten years. Lindsay received her B.A. in History and German from The College of Charleston. Molly Druce, Intervention Teacher

Molly Druce is an academic interventionist at Meeting Street Schools @ Brentwood. She taught 6th grade at Meeting Street Elementary @Brentwood last year and Morningside Middle School. Molly received her B.A. in English Literature from the University of Virginia. After working as a SCUBA instructor for a couple years she decided to go back to school to be a teacher. She received her M.Ed. in Secondary ELA Education from Vanderbilt's Peabody College. Nicole Holmes, 1st Grade Teacher

Nicole Holmes is a fifth year First Grade Teacher at Meeting Street Elementary @Brentwood. She’s from right here in Charleston, South Carolina where she worked with the Charleston County School District for 12 years. During her time with CCSD she held several positions working as a kindergarten teacher's assistant, a behavior interventionist, and a reading interventionist. She feels that in each position she was given the opportunity to grow and prepare for the classroom experience. Nicole is also a product of CCSD, attending public elementary and middle schools within the district and graduating from North Charleston High School. She obtained her B.A. in Experimental Psychology with a minor in African American Studies from the University of South Carolina. Nicole is currently in pursuit of her M.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. Raquel Flores is the school Business Manager. She was born in the Bronx, and grew up in the Poconos in Pennsylvania while spending most summers in the city. She has a background in early childhood education, and taught infants and toddlers with special needs for 5 years before moving to South Carolina. Shakira Jones is the lower school counselor at Meeting Street Elementary @ Brentwood serving students in grades 2-4. Shakira is a native of the Bronx, New York and has lived in Charleston for the past 4 years. Shina Brown is thrilled to be returning to Meeting Street Elementary @ Brentwood as a 5th grade teacher. Taylor Cardwell is an Early Childhood Instructional Coach for Meeting Street Elementary @ Brentwood. Previously, Taylor taught 1st grade for four years in Mississippi before moving to Charleston. At MSE@B, Taylor taught Kindergarten for two years before joining the Leadership Team. Taylor received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Elementary Education from The University of Mississippi.
