Madison Alliston is super excited about being in her first year teaching at Meeting Street Brentwood! She recently moved to the Charleston area after graduating with her undergrad degree at the University of Cincinnati and joining Teach For America. With the help of Teach For America, she will be starting her Masters program this winter to enhance her skills and grow as an educator. Isabelle loves to write at any chance she gets and, outside of school, she loves to go to the beach and be active. She is so thrilled to be a part of the Bulldog family!

Isabelle Artimage is super excited to be starting her first year teaching at Meeting Street Brentwood! Shina Brown is thrilled to be returning to Meeting Street Brentwood as a 5th grade teacher and Grade Level Chair. She received her bachelor’s degree from Lander University of Greenwood, SC and is certified as an elementary educator with gifted and talented endorsement. She is graduating with her master’s degree in school counseling from Grand Canyon University in October. In her free time, she enjoys reading new books, spending time with family and friends, and taking walks with her furbaby, Zoey.

Alumni Transition Coordinator & Testing Coordinator
Courtney Curtis is the Alumni Transition Coordinator at Meeting Street Brentwood. This is her first year in the network and her twenty-first year in education (eighteen were spent in a 6th-grade science classroom, two in a leadership/administration/coaching position). Courtney received her B.S in Elementary Education from Palm Beach Atlantic University and her Masters in Education and Education Specialist in Leadership from Capella University. Courtney's hobbies include reading, gardening, and spending time with her family. She is looking forward to working with all the families at Meeting Street Schools and providing opportunities for all of our students.

Academic Interventionist
Molly Druce is an academic interventionist at Meeting Street Brentwood. She taught 6th grade at Meeting Street Brentwood last year and Morningside Middle School. Molly received her B.A. in English Literature from the University of Virginia. After working as a SCUBA instructor for a couple years she decided to go back to school to be a teacher. She received her M.Ed. in Secondary ELA Education from Vanderbilt's Peabody College. Outside of school, Molly enjoys fishing, seeing live music, and walking with her two pups- Emmylou Harris and Booker T Jones.

Business Manager
Raquel Flores is the school Business Manager. She was born in the Bronx, and grew up in the Poconos in Pennsylvania while spending most summers in the city. She has a background in early childhood education, and taught infants and toddlers with special needs for 5 years before moving to South Carolina. Raquel received her B.S. from Penn State University in Human Development and Family Studies with a family science option. During her time away from the school, she enjoys spending time with her husband Shane, her children Trent, Shari and Dahlia and dog Onyx and being outdoors.

Jayne-Stuart Garber teaches Kindergarten at Meeting Street Brentwood. She is a 2019 Teach for America Corp member who moved to Charleston from Nashville, TN. Jayne-Stuart received her B.A. in Marketing at the University of Tennessee with a minor in Studio Art, Printmaking. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Education at Francis Marion University. Uai Godwin, also known as Kitt, is the Data Manager here at Brentwood. He can assist you with any Powerschool needs. For fun, he enjoys traveling to Thailand, where he was born, especially to the beautiful islands in Phuket. He also likes dancing such as the salsa, cha cha, rumba, swng, shag, etc. He has a 16-year-old daughter that goes to SOA and a Holland Lop rabbit named Gucci.

Assistant Principal, Operations
Charlie Hansen serves as the Assistant Principal, Director of Operations at Meeting Street Brentwood. He joined the Brentwood team this year after spending the past 10 years in local and state government. In his previous position, Charlie managed the day-to-day operations for Mount Pleasant's Public Service Department and led hurricane response among other major events like the Cooper River Bridge Run. Charlie earned a Master of Public Administration from the College of Charleston and is passionate about organizational leadership and operations. When not at Brentwood,Charlie enjoys wrestling with his dog Mowgli and enjoying all of Charleston's outdoor activities.

Shakira Harrell is the Dean of Students at Meeting Street Brentwood serving students in grades 2-4. Shakira is a native of the Bronx, New York and has lived in Charleston for the past 4 years. She has a wealth of experience working with children, youth & families in the roles of school counselor, social worker, and case manager to name a few. Shakira earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College in New York City, MSW from Columbia University, and M.Ed from Arizona State University. Shyra Hutchinson is a PreK Teacher here at Meeting Street Brentwood. She joined the Meeting Street team at the end of the school year after the past four years on a Head Start program with Charleston County School District. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development from Voorhees College, which is now Voorhees University, in 2015. After she graduated from college, she started teaching toddlers and infants at a Daycare in Charleston,SC for 3 years. She always had a passion for teaching children. Shyra is from a place called Edisto Island, SC. She has a 5-year-old son named Kayson. Outside of school, she loves to cook, listen to music and spend lots of time with her family and friends.

Rebecca obtained her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from North Greenville University. She played on the NGU Women's Tennis Team and enjoyed exploring the mountainous region of the South Carolina upstate. Rebecca later studied at the Montessori Center of Minnesota and received her Master of Arts in Education from St. Catherine University. Rebecca is inspired by creativity! As an educator, She is inspired by creative development in young learners and seeks to promote its cultivation in the classroom! Rebecca is a crochet artist and loves all things crafty. Mary Catherine Lancaster serves as Elementary Head of School at Brentwood. She joined the Brentwood team this year after working for the past 10 years in education, serving most recently as the Director of Instruction for a charter network in the Bronx. Originally from Charleston, Mary Catherine earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Spanish from Clemson University. She earned her Master’s Degree from Teachers College at Columbia University as a Reading Specialist. Mary Catherine loves being outside with her husband and her two kids. She is extremely excited to have joined the Brentwood family!

She is from Pawleys Island, SC who recently relocated back to the Carolina area after living in the District of Columbia for years where she taught preschool. Claire Lennarz is from Williamsburg, Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia. She recently moved to Charleston from New York City where she was teaching second grade. Previously, she worked as a dance instructor in Jazz, Ballet, and Musical Theater for children of all varying ages. Caroline Martinez has taught upper school math for the past two years at Meeting Street Brentwood. This will be her 10th year in the classroom where she has mainly taught Math to 3rd-6th grade students. She received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina-Columbia and her M.S. in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL. Roger is a dedicated educator who firmly believes that all students can learn and that their wildest dreams can and will become their reality. He is originally from Chesterfield, SC and attended the University of South Carolina Upstate. Roger has worked with students from grades PreK-12 in a variety of roles. He has served as a teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Throughout his time as an educator, he has lived by one quote, “How can you teach me if you do not know me and I do not know you?” In Roger’s free time, you can find him cooking a good southern meal, trying to bake, engaging in discussions about how Marvel is better than DC, or spending quality time with his family and friends!

Perez, Alison
Art Teacher
Alison Perez is delighted to be returning to Meeting Street Brentwood as an early childhood Art Teacher during the 2021-2022 school year. She is incredibly proud to be part of a learning community that is dedicated to providing quality educational opportunities for children in North Charleston. Alison grew up and attended public schools in Unionville, Pennsylvania. It was always Alison's dream to become a teacher. She received her bachelor's degree from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and is certified as an early childhood and elementary educator. After college, Alison spent 2 years in Rhode Island designing and implementing a tutoring and intervention program for at-risk students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Since moving to South Carolina in 2006, Alison has taught 1st and 2nd grade in Charleston County. She also provided support and mentorship for new teachers, and has designed and provided professional development in incorporating science into reading and writing instruction for early childhood educators. In her free time, Alison loves spending time with her boyfriend Brandon, gardening, going to the beach, painting, and playing with her dog and cats - Cassidy, Judy, Magnolia, Sugaree, and Scarlet.

Behavioral Interventionist
Mr. Pugh is a first year Behavioral Interventionist of the Middle School and Bulldog Prep. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and moved to South Carolina with his wife in 2011. He spent 2 years as a mental health tech at a behavioral hospital, and 1 year as a substitute teacher. Before coming to Meeting Street, he worked as team lead of a nearby homeless shelter where he still works in his spare time. He graduated with a B.A in Psychology and is pursuing a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Christine Ramsey is starting her eighth year at Meeting Street Brentwood as the Occupational Therapist Interventionist. Prior to working at MSB, she was an OT for 4 years in SC public schools. Before focusing on pediatrics, Christine worked in adult rehabilitation for five years in North Charleston and Florence. She received her Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Sciences from the Medical University of South Carolina, and her undergraduate study was in Exercise Science at USC. Outside of school, Christine enjoys crafting, and spending time with her husband and 2 children camping, fishing, and supporting their school and sporting events.

Nicole Ross is originally from Rochester, NY and has lived in South Carolina for the past 20 years. She attended Coker College and graduated with a Bachelorette of Science in Psychology. Because of her love for children and a strong desire to teach, she went through the PACE program to obtain a teaching certificate. For the past 6 years Ms. Ross has had the opportunity to guide students with emotional disabilities. She has worked with students ranging from Pre K through middle school and is very excited to be a part of the Behavior Support team here at Meeting Street Brentwood!

Madelyn attended Penn State University where she studied Human Development and Family Studies. She continued her education through Slippery Rock University to obtain her Master’s in Special Education. She is currently a doctoral student at Slippery Rock University pursuing a doctoral degree in Special Education. My students inspire me to learn as much as possible can to ensure they have everything they need to succeed. My family, friends, and colleagues continue to inspire me to be the best teacher and person I can be. Alma Jones is a sixth year kindergarten teacher at Meeting Street. During her first year at Meeting Street she began as a fellow and transitioned into a lead on the kindergarten team. Prior to joining the Meeting Street family, Alma worked at James Island Elementary for four years. While there, she worked as a teacher assistant in the computer lab, kindergarten class, and the pre-school intervention class (PIC). Alma earned my bachelor of science in elementary education from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Alma is a native of Edisto Island, South Carolina. She currently resides in Summerville, South Carolina with her husband Eddie, and three children, Aldariya, 18 and Trevion, 14, and Elijah 3 years old. When she is not teaching she enjoys spending time with her family. It has always been her dream to educate children, and she is passionate to live out her dream with the Meeting Street family. She was born and raised in Hollywood, SC, but spent some time in Rock Hill, SC where she attended Winthrop University and went on to get her Masters in Elementary Education from Wingate University. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and three children, Kylay, Jude, and Brantley.

Third Grade Teacher
Rachel Lee teaches 3rd grade at Meeting Street Brentwood. This is her second year with the network and 5th year teaching. Rachel received her B.S in Elementary Education from Liberty University. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys reading, playing sports, and traveling.

Williams, Anna
Behavior Interventionist
Anna Williams is our Pre-K- 1st grade Behavior Interventionist at Meeting Street Brentwood. Anna is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, where she served as a Therapeutic Group Leader at The Children’s Home of Cincinnati. While in this position, she provided intensive mental health treatment to children ages 3 to 8 in a classroom setting. Anna received her B.S. in Social Work from Miami University in Oxford, OH. Outside of work, Anna enjoys painting, long boarding, and going to the beach with her dog!
