• Career Development:

    At West Ashley High School, we strive to provide our students with the tools and knowledge about the many different career choices and opportunities that they can take advantage of during their high school career and beyond.

    Job Shadowing - participate in a one day job shadow experience to learn more about a career

    Work-Based Learning - earn high school credit while on the job. The employment placement must align with their CTE Completer status *students must qualify for this opportunity

    Lunch & Learns - Business Partners are scheduled to set up an informational table during lunch blocks to provide students employment and internship opportunities.

    Classroom Speakers - various career speakers are scheduled for classroom presentations to provide information about their career and an educational pathway

    9th Grade Career Presentation - 9th graders are provided with information about CTE majors, the purpose of the IGP meeting, and tools to encourage career exploration.

    WIN  Career Readiness Testing - All third-year students take the state-required WIN Career Readiness test. Our goal for students is a Silver or above!

    Career Events - Reality of Money, Career Readiness Symposium, various career-related field trips *subject to change each year
