Mrs. Lambert began her teaching career at Flossmoor Hills Elementary School where she taught K-5 general music and chorus.  In 2002, Mrs. Lambert began a distinguished career as the choral director at Lincoln-Way East High School (Frankfort, IL).  Three of her choirs were selected to perform at the state convention for Illinois Music Educators and choirs under her direction never earned less than the top rating of superior in festival and contest.  Mrs. Lambert's choirs were also invited to perform at Wheaton College and Northwestern University as demonstration choirs for music education students.  Additionally, her choirs performed at the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Disney World, and Cruise Festivals in Nassau.

Mrs. Lambert was responsible for directing the annual Madrigal Dinner and the Spring Musical for 10 years in addition to more than 20 community performances per year.  As a result of her engagement with the community, she was awarded the "Top Outstanding Young Person" award by the Illinois Jaycees.  In 2012, Mrs. Lambert transitioned to part-time teaching at Lyons Township High School in Western Springs, IL where she conducted all 9th and 10th grade chorus classes and presented multiple times to teachers on Formative Assessment and Differentiated Instruction.

In 2014, her family relocated to Charleston, SC where Mrs. Lambert became the high school choral director at Palmetto Christian Academy.  She conducted the Youth Chorale at Charleston Southern University in a Piccolo Spoleto performance, and homeschool choirs for grades 2-12 for East Cooper Arts Academy.  In 2017, she returned to full-time public school teaching at Moultrie Middle School (Mount Pleasant, SC) where she is a member of the school's Cultural Competency Team and School Improvement Council.  Her Moultrie choirs have earned only superior ratings at the State Concert Performance Assessment.  They have also performed in a Disney Performing Arts Workshop and collaborated with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and the Nashville Ballet in the performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana

Mrs Lambert is also back in school!  She will complete an additional Master's degree from Walden University in the spring of 2021.  The focus of this degree program is Integrating Technology in the Classroom.  Mrs. Lambert has also recently served on the faculty of CCSD's Virtual Academy as the first grade music teacher. In her spare time, Mrs. Lambert is a Girl Scout troop leader and a lector, catechist, and cantor at church.  She is married to Bobby Lambert who is the band director at Wando High School and they have two daughters, Maria and Olivia, and two dogs, Sophie and Sadie.

Principal Coker describes Mrs. Lambert as an incredible teacher, but more importantly, an incredible person. Her love for students and the community of Mount Pleasant is unrivaled. Alysia teaches to the whole child and goes beyond just Chorus. She deeply cares about her students and it shows in everything she does. We are so proud of Ms. Lambert and we are thrilled she is our 2020-2021 teacher of the year.
