• Children in Crisis

  • Purpose

The Children-In-Crisis Fund, which was established in 2009 as a result of the generosity of groups of community members, provides varied crisis and emergency assistance for CCSD students and their families. The CIC Fund has very limited funds, and thus financial gifts usually range from $250.00 - $500.00 per family.

    Initiatives

September 5, 2018 -- Panera Bread hosted a media kick-off event at its West Ashley location to launch its partnership with Charleston County School District (CCSD). Five Panera Bread cafes in the Charleston area, owned and operated by Covelli Enterprises (the largest franchisee of Panera Bread), raised funds during the month of September for the District’s Children in Crisis Fund, which provides crisis and emergency assistance for CCSD students and families.

Patrons donated by using the company’s Covelli Cares collection canisters at the registers of its area locations.

At the kick-off event, CCSD’s Chief of Staff, and Melissa Lemieux, Marketing Director for Covelli Enterprises SC-GA, provided the Covelli Cares collection canister program. Panera Bread breakfast will be provided for all attendees.
