Benefits

Charleston County School District offers a comprehensive benefits package to all eligible employees.  This package is offered through the South Carolina Public Employee Benefit Authority Programs (PEBA).  It includes state health, dental, dental plus, vision, life insurance (optional, dependent spouse, dependent child), supplemental benefits and retirement.

The State Health Plan offers resources that can help make it easier for you and your family to stay healthy. Preventing potentially expensive health problems and hospital admissions may control medical costs, which saves you and the Plan money.

  • PEBA Perks
    South Carolina public employees help make the Palmetto State a better place — and PEBA helps make life better for public employees. It’s always better to address a health issue early, before it becomes a health crisis. These benefits are available at no cost to you at network providers and pharmacies.     It’s never too late to take control of your health. PEBA provides you with resources to help you proactively monitor your health, understand your risk factors and make informed decisions to keep you healthy. Learn more about health coaching programs available to State Health Plan members.

    Learn the skills to lose weight and keep it off forever while still eating your favorite foods in this clinically-proven online program. In this program, you will learn it’s not what you eat but when and how you eat that will help you lose weight. Retirement

PEBA sponsors and manages the retirement plans for South Carolina's public workforce. In partnership with the state's public employers, we help ensure that public employers can offer their employees a comprehensive retirement plan that is responsive to their employees' needs and is equitable to all stakeholders.
