Insurance
We are responsible for the administration of CCSD’s insurance to include property, flood, vehicle, excess worker’s compensation, and drone policies. Additionally, we manage the student athletic insurance policies and provide guidance and forms to parents to file student insurance claims.
What is Certificate of Insurance (COI)?
A COI is proof to a vendor that CCSD has general liability insurance. This is commonly requested when a school event or a CCSD event is located off CCSD property. It shows the business that if any accidents or injuries occur at the off-site location, CCSD has the insurance to cover the cost.
This is also provided to certain vendors who have an activity on school property.
When making plans for your event or outing, have getting your COI at top of your list.
To request COI, please complete the form at this link ccsdcertificateofinsurancerequestform.pdf and email to coi@charleston.k12.sc.us.
Your COI will be emailed to you and to the certificate holder normally within two to three business days.
