Gifted & Talented Nomination/Identification
The window to nominate students for CCSD’s Artistically Gifted & Talented program is now closed.
Please read the detailed Gifted & Talented Nomination/Identification Walk-Through for instructions on how to submit materials, which are due to your nominee's assigned teacher by December 6.
If a teacher has not contacted your nominated student about submitting materials by Monday, December 2, please contact our office.
Program Overview
As part of the opportunities CCSD offers for students in the arts, the Visual and Performing Arts Office administers the Gifted & Talented Artistic (GTR) nomination, adjudication, and notification process for students in Grades 3 through 8.
Students may be nominated by parents, guardians, or teachers to be evaluated in the areas of Dance, Drama, Music, and Visual Arts.
If a student is identified as Artistically Gifted & Talented by the district, they become eligible to participate in our semester-long after school arts programs and the Summer SMAART program.
Once a student is identified as Artistically Gifted & Talented, that designation stays with them in that art area through 12th Grade. Identified students do not need to go through the nomination/adjudication process again unless they want to be identified in a different arts area.
Gifted & Talented Nomination/Identification Walk Through
Please read through the following document carefully before submitting a nomination form. If you have gone through this process before, please be aware that it has changed this year.
