Gifted and Talented
Attention Parents of Students in Grades 2 and 4:ALL students in Grades 2 and 4 were offered the opportunity to take the Cognitive Abilities Test in October. Grade 2 students also took the Iowa Assessment. Paper score reports will be shared with schools to be distributed via school to home folders by Friday, December 13.
GT Status notification emails were sent to families of fully and partially identified students on 12/16 at approximately 3:54 pm. The sending email address is: ccsdschools@charleston.k12.
It is important to note that this information is very helpful in recognizing your child's relative strengths regardless of any official identification for gifted and talented services.
Newly identified 4th grade students will begin receiving gifted service in January / Semester 2.
Parent Zooms for Understanding the GT Identification Process and the CogAT Score Report were held on 12/18 & 12/19. A recording of this Informational Session can be found here.
