Kaleidoscope | Expanded Learning

Purpose

The Office of Expanded Learning administers after-school care programming that extends learning beyond the classroom by providing safe, supportive, and engaging environments where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. These programs aim to enrich
students’ school experience while supporting working families in the community.

Our Mission 

Our mission is to deliver high-quality, inclusive after-school care that nurtures the whole child through academic support, enrichment activities, and positive social experiences. We are committed to fostering a safe and stimulating environment that empowers every student to grow, learn, and succeed beyond the school day.

Organizational Structure

Each of our 48 after-school sites is led by a dedicated Site Coordinator responsible for the daily management and operation of the program. Across the district, Site Coordinators report to one of four Program Officers. Each Program Officer oversees between 10 and 14 after-school programs, ensuring consistency and quality across all sites.

We’re excited to share that registration for the 2026-2027 Kaleidoscope Afterschool Program will open on April 15 at 8:00 AM.

Please review the important information below to help you prepare:

  • Current Kaleidoscope Families:
    All accounts must have a zero balance in order to register.
  • Login Information:
    Please ensure you know your Parent Portal username and password prior to April 15 to avoid any delays.
  • Required Documents:
    You will not be required to upload any additional documents during registration.

What to Expect After You Register:

  1. After submitting your registration, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your application.
    Please note: This does not confirm enrollment.
  2. Your Site Coordinator will review your application to ensure all information is complete.
  3. Once approved, you will receive a second email confirming your child’s enrollment in the program.
    This is the official confirmation that your child has secured a spot.
