Communications
The Office of Communications serves as the primary link between Charleston County School District and its many audiences — including families, staff, media, and the broader community. The office manages all aspects of district-level messaging, from daily news and press releases to long-term brand and design standards.
Core Functions
The office oversees media relations, coordinating with print, television, radio, and digital outlets to distribute press releases and media advisories about district news, events, and accomplishments. All media inquiries are routed through the office to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely responses.
Beyond external media, the team produces original video content through its Video Services division. The office also maintains the district's Design and Style Guidelines and supports the CCSD Mobile App as a key community communication channel.
Recognition Programs
A significant portion of the office's work centers on honoring the people who make the district run. Programs include Teacher of the Year, STAR Principal Recognitions, Unsung Educator, and monthly features for observances such as Black History Month and Principal Appreciation Month.
