Gifted & Talented Nomination/Identification
The 2025-2026 nomination window for the district's Artistically Gifted & Talented (GTR) program is now closed. Results will be communicated to parents and teachers the week of January 19, 2026.
Program Overview
The Visual and Performing Arts Office administers the Gifted & Talented (GTR) identification process for students in Grades 3-8 in the Charleston County School District.
Students may be nominated by parents, guardians, or teachers to be evaluated in the areas of Dance, Drama, Music, and Visual Arts.
Identified students are eligible to participate in the district's After School and Summer SMAART classes.
Once identified as GTR, the designation remains with the student through 12th Grade. Students do not need to be re-nominated unless they wish to pursue identification in a different arts discipline.
