Huggins and Mayor-Elect Burgess announce launch of joint commission to improve student outcomes
North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey, Mayor-Elect Reggie Burgess, and Charleston County School District’s (CCSD) Acting Superintendent Anita Huggins are proud to announce a collaborative effort between CCSD and the City of North Charleston aimed at strengthening educational outcomes and support for North Charleston students and their families.

Drayton Hall named Heart Safe School
Drayton Hall Elementary School was recently named a "Designated Heart Safe School" through Project ADAM. Project ADAM is named for Adam Lemel, a 17-year-old who went into cardiac arrest while playing basketball.

CCSD Leadership Announcement | December 1, 2023
The Charleston County School District (CCSD) is excited to announce and welcome Stacey Dickinson as the permanent principal at Harbor View Elementary School. Dickinson has served as interim principal since the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year after previously serving as assistant principal at Harbor View for the last five years.

Charleston County School District (CCSD) is proud to announce the following five schools are listed on the 2023 AP® School Honor Roll due to a high number of students taking exams and performing at a high level on AP tests: Charleston County School of the Arts (SOA), Academic Magnet High School, Lucy Beckham High School, Wando High School, and Charleston Charter School for Math and Science.

The "Unsung Educator of the Week" is a weekly honor given to a CCSD educator. The winner is nominated by a peer because of their determination to go above and beyond for our students. The winner for the week is published each Friday in the CCSD All Staff newsletter.
