  • Students at Chicora receive desks from generous couple

    Anita and Neil Gorfain recently constructed desks for three students at Chicora who are learning remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. They were inspired to build the desks from a story they saw during a newscast where a family did the same thing in another part of the country.

    The Charleston Marathon® hit the road Monday, November 16th, and Wednesday, November 18th to surprise three CCSD schools with checks in support of Arts programming at their schools.

  • Mobile healthcare benefits CCSD students and their families

    Over 300 students and families at Baptist Hill Middle High School and Jerry Zucker Middle School now have medical services right on their school campuses thanks to a partnership with Fetter Health Care Network and the Charleston County School District.

  • Roper St. Francis Thermometers Donation Helps Keep Students Safe

    Many of CCSD's new families are fortunate to have the support of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) parent advocates to help them ensure their children's success in school. And now, thanks to a generous donation of 500 home thermometers from Roper St. Francis Healthcare, families will have an extra tool to keep them safe and their students ready to learn during the pandemic and beyond.

  • Trooper Bob

    This marks the second school year in which CCSD has partnered with ABC News 4 and Trooper Bob for the Trooper Bob safety Squad safety campaign. Promos and infomercials began airing September 8 and among those (and new this year) are safety messages about COVID-19 protocols on the bus, in school building/campus, and proper handwashing and mask-wearing tips.

    CCSD’s Cultural Competency Team (CCT) announces the launch of its new website. The creation of the website represents a continuation of the District’s efforts to fully implement the School Board’s Cultural Competency Policy, Policy ACE.

  • Unsung Educator of the Week

    The "Unsung Educator of the Week" is a weekly honor given to a CCSD educator. The winner is nominated by a peer because of their determination to go above and beyond for our students. The winner for the week is published each Friday in the CCSD All Staff newsletter.
