For a step-by-step walkthrough of the nomination process, please scroll down.
As part of the opportunities CCSD offers for students in the arts, the Visual and Performing Arts Office administers the Gifted & Talented Artistic (GTR) nomination, adjudication, and notification process for students in grades 3 through 8.
Students may be nominated by parents, guardians, or teachers to be evaluated in the areas of Dance, Drama, Music, and Visual Arts. If a student is identified as Artistically Gifted & Talented by the district, they become eligible to participate in our semester-long after school arts programs and the Summer SMAART program.
Once a student is identified as Artistically Gifted & Talented, that designation stays with them in that art area through 12th Grade. Identified students do not need to go through the nomination/adjudication process again unless they want to be identified in a different arts area.
