Mrs. Lisa Marie Ferguson, Parent Educator
Lisa Marie Ferguson has served sixteen years in education, with the last six years at Sullivan’s Island. She graduated from Wofford College in 2004 and received her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 2006 from the College of Charleston. In 2017, Lisa Marie graduated from The Citadel with her Master’s in Educational Leadership in Elementary Administration. She holds both an Early Childhood Certificate and an Elementary Principal Certificate.
After teaching various grades in Berkeley County, Richland District Two, and Charleston County, Lisa Marie came to Sullivan's Island to teach third grade. Since arriving at Sullivan's Island, she has served in several different roles: third grade teacher, 2nd-5th grade Coastal Science teacher, and currently as the Parent Educator and Coastal Science Lead. From 2019-2021, she proudly served as Teacher of the Year for SIES!
On a personal note, Lisa Marie's husband is a physician for Roper, and she has three boys that are proud to be SIES Skimmers. They ALL love getting to learn by the sea each day! When she is not at school, she is busy chasing her crew around!!
