James Island Charter High School 2024 Commencement Ceremony will be on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:30 am at the North Charleston Coliseum. Candidates for graduation must arrive and be seated no later than 10:00 am. Doors will open for family and guests at 10:30 am. We do not require tickets for our ceremony. There is plenty of room. Parking is free.

Candidates for graduation, approved escorts, junior marshals, faculty, and staff should enter the arena through the east entrance ONLY. Faculty and staff should bring their school ID's.

Family and guests should enter through the north and south entrances. The ushers will direct you to the arena.

We will have ADA seating on the floor of the arena. The coliseum prefers to have (1) to (2) people sit on the floor with the guest who needs accessibility but due to our size, they may allow more. ADA seating on the floor is first come first serve.

The ceremony will be live-streamed. Visit the Charleston County School District YouTube Channel (www.youtube.com/@ccsdschools) or our James Island Charter High School Communications Facebook page. Please share with your family and friends.

Programs will be available in the arena. They will be limited to two per family on a first come first serve basis. The program QR code will be on the arena display board to scan for an electronic version to download and share. The electronic version will only be available on June 8th.

There is a clear bag policy in effect. There will be security checkpoints at all entrances. Full water bottles will not be allowed into the building even if sealed. You can bring an empty water bottle and fill it up at the new water fountains around the facility. Please note that the coliseum does not allow balloons or noise-making devices.

After the ceremony, the graduates will exit through the east entrance. Families should plan a meeting location outside of the coliseum. Graduates will not be allowed back into the coliseum after exiting. For more information, visit our Class of 2024 Information Page.
