About Our CIS Coordinator
Have questions about the Communities in Schools program? Please contact Mrs. Winston and learn more about her here.
Jennifer Winston feels most empowered when she provides students with, and teaches them how to use, their own tools to succeed in school and in life.
“I have been, what I coined, an “Education extender”, in CCSD for over 19 years. As an advocate for children and families, I connect you to resources and support beyond the school campus. I am the parent of 4 children, 3 of which graduated from Charleston County Schools, that are in college and/or serving in the military. The same way I taught my own children, I teach students at NCES to be assertive and find their unique qualities and their own voice as an important contributor to the world. Helping students identify their strengths and support systems as a way to eliminate their struggles is a daily goal. In life skills and social emotional support groups, I teach students that we are all responsible for our own actions no matter how we feel. I enjoy motivating students to reach short and long-term goals by reminding all NCES students that they are respectful, responsible, and resilient.
