Ms. Semsar has served as our school counselor and Title IX coordinator since 2017. She meets with students in a variety of ways each day. She sees every class once a month for classroom guidance,  meets with groups of 5-6 students at a time in a small group setting to work on coping strategies, anxiety, self-esteem, etc. and also meets with students individually, as needed, based on social-emotional behaviors. 

Ms. Semsar grew up in Mt. Pleasant, attended Wando, then went to USC where she studied Elementary Education. She spent 4 years teaching 3rd grade in Berkeley County. During those 4 years, she decided she wanted to pursue her Masters degree in School Counseling. She took evening courses and online courses to complete this degree while teaching. Upon graduating, she was offered at job at Laurel Hill as the School Counselor and has been here ever since!

When she is not at school, you can find her on a run, at the beach, or fishing on the boat--anything outside with her family!
