Mrs. Martin started teaching in 1992 at Minnie Hughes Elementary. After getting married in 1996, she moved to Wilmington for two years. Excited to be back in Charleston, she taught at Memminger Elementary until getting a job at Pinckney in 2002. She moved over to Laurel Hill in December 2005 when the building opened. During her career, she taught first grade, served as a reading interventionist, and is currently an instructional coach. 

Mrs. Martin holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Vanderbilt University and a Master's in Elementary Education from The College of Charleston. She is certified in Reading Recovery through Clemson University. She holds the Read to Succeed coaching endorsement as well as being a certified Lastinger Instructional Coach through the University of Florida.  She has two children, and when she is not at Laurel Hill you may find her at the gym or at the beach!
