Mrs. Simpkins is a native of New York City. She and her husband Steve are the proud parents of two sons. Mrs. Simpkins received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Saint Francis College; a Masters of Education from Charleston Southern University, and advanced graduate studies in Administration and Supervision also from Charleston Southern University. Mrs. Simpkins has been in education since 2000. She spent much of her professional career working with elementary school students. Prior to working for Charleston County School District, she served as an educator in New York, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. She thoroughly enjoys building relationships, serving the learning community, and contributing to a successful school culture and climate in every way that she can. Mrs. Simpkins considers teaching her passion and children her first priority.
