¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español!
Welcome to Spanish class! My name is Erica Becker (formerly Erica Young) and this is my second year at Wando. I am teaching Spanish 1 this year, and I am proud to be a part of such a developed and advanced foreign language program.
Prior to Wando, I taught at a middle school in DD2, and before that I taught at a high school in Philadelphia, PA where I was born and raised. I graduated from Penn State University with three Bachelor’s degrees in Spanish, International Studies, and Advertising. I spent 6 months studying abroad in Alicante, Spain where I lived with a native family and truly developed my language skills and grew a stronger appreciation for the culture. After graduation, I worked as a corporate interior designer for a few years before realizing my true passion lies in the Spanish language. I then received my Masters in Education from Holy Family University, and moved to Charleston in the summer of 2017.
My goal is for my students to look forward to coming to Spanish class every day, and to enjoy learning the language as much as I enjoy teaching it. ¡Vamos a tener un año fantástico!
