New Hire Orientation FAQ
What is New Hire Orientation (NHO)?
NHO provides an opportunity to finalize administrative processing and learn more about the organization, its policies, and benefits for employees.
Do I have to attend?
Yes. All new employees must attend NHO.
Who schedules me for NHO?
Charleston County School District’s Office of Human Resources schedules new hires for orientation. Once you have been cleared for hire, a technician from the Office of HR will contact you via phone and/or e-mail to schedule a date for you to attend NHO.
How will I know if I’m scheduled for NHO?
You will receive email communication from the Office of Human Resources. This email will include the orientation date and time as well as new hire forms that must be completed.
Where is NHO held?
Orientation is held virtually via Zoom. You will receive a Zoom invite prior to the scheduled meeting. This invite will be sent to your personal email address that is tied to your CCSD application.
How long is the session?
NHO starts promptly at 8:00 am. The session is scheduled to end at 10:15 am.
What is the acceptable length of time for documentation for negative TB results?
The TB test (skin, chest x-ray, or QuantiFeron-TB Gold) must be completed/read within 12 months before your orientation date. Please upload the TB results to the TB form. Please note, this testing is a 48 to 72-hour process, and you must present the results to attend orientation. Please note: CCSD does not pay for or reimburse the cost of the TB test. If you have an issue concerning the COVID vaccine and scheduling your TB test, please contact 843-937-6397.
Who should I contact if I don’t have a Letter of Employment or Letter of Agreement?
Employment Letters are generally issued to new employees via your private e-mail. This would be the e-mail address provided by you on your Frontline application. If you have not received a letter, via e-mail, contact your hiring manager first, then contact the Human Resources Support Center (M-F, 8-5) by phone at 843-937-6380 or e-mail at email@example.com.
